Biography

Jami was born and raised in Springfield, MO. She graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Elementary Education and taught in both Missouri and Oklahoma before relocating with her family to the Austin area in 2014. She has over a decade of experience working with students with disabilities, most recently, teaching as a Resource/Inclusion Teacher at Round Rock ISD. Jami is a dedicated advocate for inclusivity in education and beyond. Throughout her career, she’s had the privilege of working with diverse learners, collaborating with educators, medical professionals, and families to promote best practices for those with disabilities.

She is excited to join DSACT in their mission to provide education, support, and resources to individuals with Down syndrome, their families, professionals, and the community while building public awareness and acceptance of the abilities of individuals with Down syndrome.
