DSACT is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with Down syndrome at every stage of life through a wide range of programs and services. While we offer specific programs tailored for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, such as social activities, recreational opportunities, and support for new parents, we also extend our services to the broader community. By providing resources and support to educators and healthcare professionals, we strive to create a more inclusive and compassionate world that benefits everyone!
DSACT recreation programs provide an inclusive environment across all age groups to promote healthy habits, wellness, socialization, and skills development.
The six DSACT social groups provide a supportive network for families to connect, form friendships, seek advice and share their joys and challenges.
New Parent Program
The New Parent Program welcomes both new and expectant parents to our wonderful community by connecting them with a New Parent Guide and sending a welcome package filled with resources and a gift!
Our annual events include both fundraising and community events to bring the broader Central Texas community together for a shared mission of creating an inclusive world for all!
Our Education Outreach efforts empower educators and parents with best practices to teach students with Down syndrome in an inclusive setting through a variety of programs like presentations, conferences, 1:1 consultations and more.
We work to create a better medical experience for our families by collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure they stay up to date with best practices on topics from the initial diagnosis to treating adults with Down syndrome.
The DSACT speech therapy program is an 18-month program designed to address unique communication challenges faced by individuals with Down syndrome to give them the confidence and communication skills needed to succeed in all aspects of life.
Our Advocacy program equips individuals with Down syndrome with the tools they need to become Ambassadors for DSACT and self-advocates. Whether it be learning how to tell their story, gaining skills to network with others, or speaking to a crowd at our annual Buddy Walk®, DSACT Ambassadors spread our mission of inclusion for people with Down syndrome.
