2025 DSACT Buddy Walk® Overview
Thank you to the donors, volunteers, sponsors, community vendors, and participants who made the 2025 DSACT Buddy Walk® a huge success! On October 19, 2025, more than 1,500 people came together to celebrate the Central Texas Down syndrome community. It was a beautiful day filled with familiar faces, new connections, and joyful moments honoring our loved ones with Down syndrome. Because of your generosity, we raised over $165,000 to support DSACT’s programs and services throughout the year!
An extra special thank you to our Highest Fundraising Team, Team Jean Pablo, who raised $15,522. Another thank you to our Largest Team, Adalyn’s Alliance, who registered 60 people on their team!
Event highlights included enjoying magical visits from the princesses, listening to the uplifting choir performance, purchasing bake sale items made by DSACT adults at the community showcase, playing in the bounce house and soft play areas, and, of course, coming together for our community walk. We’re so grateful to everyone who played a part in making this 2025 DSACT Buddy Walk® so special and we can’t wait to see what we accomplish together next year!
What is the DSACT Buddy Walk®?
The DSACT Buddy Walk® is an annual event that brings together thousands of members of the Central Texas Down syndrome community. As our largest fundraiser, this event culminates the months of fundraising by community members like YOU! The DSACT Buddy Walk® is a day full of entertainment for all ages! Here are some of the highlights:
- Our famous walk!
- Dance party
- Petting zoo
- DSACT choir performance
- Mini golf
- Lake with pedal boats
- Swimming pool
- Visits from princesses and stormtroopers
- Face painting
- Lunch
- A day of fun supporting our great mission
- And more!
What does the event raise money for?
As our largest annual fundraiser, this event culminates the months of fundraising by community members like YOU! The money raised during Buddy Walk® season helps to fund DSACT’s core programming including:
- Our New Parent Program that welcomes new families to our wonderful community
- Six social groups that encourage lifelong friendships through frequent events
- Recreation programs like kayak camp, book club, art, dance, and fitness that create an inclusive space to make new friends
- Training sessions and conferences for local medical and educational professionals in best practices for their patients and students
- A one-of-a-kind speech therapy program that opens endless opportunities for independence
