LaTasha Rodgers is an impassioned lifelong learner, with a wealth of experience as an English Language Arts teacher. Her unwavering commitment lies in fostering inclusivity and celebrating diversity, driven by the firm belief that everyone, irrespective of their abilities, deserves equal opportunities.
Having called Austin home since 1990, LaTasha is not just a resident; she’s a witness to the city’s metamorphosis. Her muse and inspiration stem from her brother, the charismatic Ronnie, known as “The Fry Guy” and “The Model.” Their connection has deepened significantly, particularly since LaTasha assumed the role of Ronnie’s caregiver following the end of their mother’s battle with cancer in 2017. The realms of entrepreneurship and modeling have become shared passions, igniting LaTasha’s fervor for advocating on behalf of individuals with Down syndrome.
LaTasha Rodgers ardently believes that, at the core, people are more alike than different, accentuating the profound importance of embracing diversity as life’s enriching spice. In her capacity on the board, she pledges to share not just her skills and experiences but an infectious enthusiasm that resonates with the mission of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas. LaTasha’s unique perspective, forged through personal connections and caregiving experiences, renders her an invaluable asset to the vibrant community she serves.
